I love it.

As a public service, I will now show you exactly what to email someone when you wish to purchase their car.

Quote:
Thanks so much for the mail,I would like you to know that i am reallyinterested in buying it,I am willing to give you extra $500 plus theasking price if you did not mind to disregard any offer that which topurchase it from you and accept mine, please let me know if you acceptmy offer ???? am buying the good as a surprise for my dad as he hastold me that he needed it before i left home and i am on the sea atthe moment as i am a marine engineer and due to the nature of mywork, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but isqueezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regardingit. I really want the good to be a surprise for dad so i wont let himknow anything about the good until it gets delivered to him , i amsure he will be more than happy with this.I insisted on PayPal becausei don't have access to my bank account online as i don't have internetbanking, but i can pay from my PayPal account, as i have my bank a/cattached to it, i will need you to give me your Final asking pricethat i will add the $500 to,and also your PayPal email address andyour Name on the account so i can make the payments asap for the goodand pls if you don't have PayPal account yet, it is very easy to setup, go to www.paypal.com. and get it set up and attached your bank a/cwith it so you get the money from your bank, after you have set it upi will only need the e-mail address you use for registration and thename with paypal so as to put the money through.I have a pick up agentthat will come and pick the this up after i have made the payments sothere is no need for you on the shipping side than to have yourmoney. And also get let me know where it is located after the paymentfor my shipper to come for the pick up.

Thanks and hope to read from you

How could this fine person possibly be anything but legit?

It's frustrating, but I love this stuff.

Discuss.

My brother had a very similar email about a year ago when he was selling a ring. Although for fun he decided to email the guy back to get more info about where he lives and the guy actully provided a phone #. A quick google search and the # belonged to a YMCA in the US.

I don't thiink he ever called it but the guy would up sending at least 3 more emails asking when my brother was going to send the ring (to a general post box!).

I feel bad for anyone who actually gets duped by these people.

Yea when selling my golf I got an almost exact cut and paste of this email. I emailed back and said "sounds good the car is here for you when you arrive with cash." I got no response. Man I think if scam artists just put their energy into say...a job. They might actually make money.

wow. Someone tried to run this same scam on my boss 2 weeks ago when he was selling a car. The guy tried to get him to send money to a "pickup agent." We had a good laugh

this is a series of emails i sent back and forth with a "buyer" this weekend. first email seemed okay, then it was downhill, till i sent an even scammier email to the "buyer"

from buyer:
How much are you finally asking for this,How long has it been under your care?
> Please i will appreciate some more pictures.
> Regards'
> Greg

response:
the final asking price is whatever is left on the loan, should be a little under 15,900 and i've owned the jeep since new. i'll try and send you some current pics tonight.

Ian

from buyer:
Good reading from you,I am in a Marine boot camp training here in the United State of America and would like this deal concluded asap because we do not have much time or neither we have time to go off the vicinity of this camp,So i think i would be coming over for inspection so as to seal off this deal and make positives conclusion.I would like you decide where we could meet, though i would be prefer a secure place in your area.So get back to me with your contact details with proper description on how i could come over for proper inspection as regards viewing things my self and seeing the present condition...
Regards
Greg

response:
i would very much like to sell to you this vehicle, but I am currently living in Nigeria. In order for me to sell this to you i would have to write you a bank draft in the order of one hundred thousand british pounds. then all i would ask of you is to write me back a cheque for the equivilant of the vehicle purchase price and you could keep the rest of these funds for yourself! Let me know asap, there has been a military coup here and i am frightened for my livelihood.

I love the Nigerian email twist you sent back! Makes mine pale in comparison.

I emailed this guy back. Is for fun.

Sorry, I haven't been able to use PayPal since the assault charges a couple of years ago. I will however accept cash or certified cheque. If this is acceptable to you, i will provide you with a PO Box to send the money to. Until then, I'll keep the locked in a secure garage with my gun collection and German Shepherds. Hope to hear from you soon!

When I tried selling my Mk1 Scirroco i got scammers from all over the world telling me they would send me the money to pay the shipper who THEY would send to pick up the car to so they would add an extra 2500 for payment that I would cash from a Western Union money order.

I would tell them that that would be fine and that it could be picked up at my parking spot at the local RCMP office during working hours. Gave them the office address to send the money to, but strangely my Dad (who was a member at the time) never recieved any money orders or had anyone come to collect the car.

brad

Then there was the 4500 Porsche for sale on E-bay from a seller in Florida, but hte car was in England. Got his scammer a$$ kicked off e-bay too

Well, it turns out that "Luke" has a soul connection to some guy named "Peter."

I just got the exact same email, word for word. he caught me at a weak moment here at work ,and my response wasn't quite as polite as usual. it had a lot of cursing and hopes that he gets cancer and things of that sort.

I think if I actually got a legit offer on my Jetta I'd take it just for the sheer novelty of it!

I am running into the same sh!t with selling a car of mine. Exactly the same. I have noticed they are all gmail accounts. I have had some outstanding "offers" from tina williams and brittany jack both of gmail fame that are identical to yours. Fine upstanding "tina" wanted me to ship the car and she was willing to pay an extra 500 as well. then she asked for my credit card number, name of issuing bank and the limit. I replied back by asking if this scam actually works - to which I got no response. I wish we could track these meatbags and smack them around a bit.

I noticed all of the emails were from gmail accounts. However, I did have one serious guy with a gmail account. He's local and actually came to loo kat the car. Initially though, I saw his email sitting there and I just about blasted him, solely based on his gmail account.
