recently my touareg has started clunking when shifting down from 5th to 4th gear, when the vehicle is gliding without my foot being on either the break or gas... the entire vehicle jolts! Shocked i took it to norden autohaus on st.albert trail and they seem to not be able to find anything although it still manages to continue to clunk occasionally... any ideas on what could be the problem?! hoping it is not the tranny... thanks..

didn't read it all but here's some others with that issue

valve body and software update seem to be the words thrown around

x2 on the valve body.
Not sure why Norden couldn't find the problem, my guess would be they didn't get it hot while driving.
The 5-4 downshift clunk is very common, and I'm sure it's much worse when the trans fluid is hot.

norden has some great mechanics.. many are on this forum too...
people make mistakes and yeh sometimes crap happens...
what would you say if one of your customers at your work was bashing you/your work because of a small mistake that you made/ couldnt fix a problem...
basically i advise that you stay indoors and not go to any stores, because with that attitude you "will never return" to pretty much any store eventually... as they will all make a mistake eventually...
just sayin...

fair enough what i said was wrong and i do appoligize as i do know of some people who work at norden who are on the site aswell... it is just simply frustrating to experience a problem and have someone tell you nothing is wrong with the vehicle multiple times... if you can see where im coming from and accept the appology..

It seems to me that even though they didn't experience the problem, they recommended a repair. Valvebody's are a common issue with regards to shifting problems on Toureg's as well as Cayenne's.
