It looks like Im buying back my old mk4 VR, and the p.o. was in an accident, where the insurance company didn't write it off (apparently), but the police put a 'must fix' sticker on it. Or whatever its called...
Anyone have to deal with this before? What was involved, etc _________________ Contrary to popular belief, I am neither a dog nor a kid. |

Well, autobody shops arent allowed to do work over a grand without the police sticker in place (showing it was reported) That much Ive found online.
But, it doesn't say exactly whats involved to get it taken off, or if it even has to be taken off. Derrrr. I dont know. _________________ Contrary to popular belief, I am neither a dog nor a kid. |

The little white square accident sticker they put on the windshield? Remove when fixed. _________________ 2001 Jetta TDI - The Crayon: Very modded.

sticker should stay in place on windshield till repairs have been completed.
If you get pulled over with damage on your car and no sticker - could cause further hassle to driver. _________________ Air and Water are needed to survive, you just can't live as long without Air!

Oh, so if my body guy does all the work in his private shop, we can just take the sticker off, no worries?
For some reason, I thought it would be connected to re-insuring again _________________ Contrary to popular belief, I am neither a dog nor a kid. |

no no worries - only time it's an issue for insurance is if car was writen off.
Your body guy should know this, it's part of the apprenticeship training. _________________ Air and Water are needed to survive, you just can't live as long without Air!

| You are right about being pulled over with damage and the sticker not being there "could/might cause an issue if theres a hit&run and by some chance your car fits that description" I remove them once i finsih repairing any car that has them. But you can take it off any time you wish, recommend to get you car repaired first. |
